The days are shorter, sweaters are appearing, and it’s time to stock up on a long winter’s supply of great reads. The Friends of the Georgetown Library are ready to help: they’re holding a giant, three-day Fall Book Sale in mid-November.
“Through the past months we have gathered an incredible selection of used books in all categories, great for stocking up for winter reading as well as gifts for the upcoming holiday,” said book sale organizer and Friends president Bob Willey. “And remember that all proceeds from the Fall Book Sale go toward supporting children's reading programs at the Library!”
During the sale, hardbacks are just $1 and paperbacks are 50 cents. In addition, there will be a large selection of coffee table books ($2.00); DVDs, CDs, and LPs for $1.00; and antiquarian and special books for $3.00.
As an added bonus, if you bring a canned or nonperishable food item for Helping Hands Thanksgiving Food Drive, you will receive one free hardback or paperback book.
The sale will be held in the auditorium and entrance lobby of the library at these times:
Thursday, November 15th: 8:30 am - 7 pm
Friday, November 16th: 8:30 am – 5:30 pm
Saturday, November 17th: 8:30 am – 5:30 pm
“We love the fall book sale – it’s our chance to catch up with everyone and kick off the holiday season,” said library director Dwight McInvaill. “We hope to see you there!”
